Polski: Carl i Karin Larssonowie połączyli nowy projekt ze starymi tradycjami. Praktyczność podyktowała ich wystrój wnętrz, ale równie ważne było, aby meble i przedmioty tworzyły atrakcyjną harmonię. Ideał ten propagowali także inni, w tym Ellen Key, która w swoim eseju „Skönhet för alla” (Piękno dla wszystkich) w 1899 r. Sundborn, latem 1889 roku. Tutaj Carl i Karin wspólnie stworzyli wnętrza, które rozsławiły ich dom. Karin projektowała meble i tekstylia, które haftowała i tkała. W jednym z korytarzy urządzono pracownię. Dessa idéer förespråkades också till exempel av Ellen Key. Hon pläderade för nya och ljusa hem i sin uppsats „Skönhet for alla” od 1899. Larssons flyttade till huset Lilla Hyttnäs i Sundborn sommaren 1889. Carl i Karin skulle där tillsammans skapa den inredning som gjorde hemmet berömt. Karin formgav både möbler och textilier som hon broderade och vävde. En av tamburerna inreddes tidigt till ateljé. Köket som främst var en plats för hushållsarbete och matlagning hade dock inte samma moderna inredningsstil och bekvämlighet som de övriga rummen.
